I gave my winter coat to clean at Mayflower 11/23/18, but when I collected it it was more dirty than I ever saw it - filled with animal hair and lint. I am allergic to dogs and it seemed like one had slept in my coat. I told the clerk I wanted a refund to clean it elsewhere. She said no refund so I showed her its condition, expressing my dissatisfaction. She said dont show her as she was not the person who took it. I asked for manager, none. The following week manager called with long excuse for defence. Not a word of apology, like the clerk, and neither did so when I picked it up again barely improved. Only voicing another defensive excuse. But I learnt my lesson - to heed my instinct that the building deplorable condition and interior rat infested odour was not a good sign. I re-cleaned coat at my expense.
It appears a family owned business. Excellent dealing with their customers. The people are extremely nice, and accommodating. The rates are the same as all other places in Hartford, and West Hartford ( pretty standard). They call you if there is a delay, or if your clothes are ready early. I have been using it for 2 years, without any trouble.
