I encountered Dr. Kureshi after a motorcycle accident. My review is bittersweet because he did help me in a time of need, it was how he handled the aftermath that sums it up however. I needed a spinal fusion and he preformed the surgery and put harware in my spine. A few months after the surgery I started to experience pain from a bump in my back so I went to see the Dr. He said it was a hard muscle along the incision and gave me a script to see a physical therapist for some deep tissue work to smooth it out. I went to PT and after less than 5 minutes of being there the therapist said thats definitely not a muscle and there is nothing I can do for you. He suggested that it was probably the harware that was in me from the fusion. So I went back to the Dr. and handed him the report from the PT and he laughed and said they have no idea what they are talking about and proceeded to give me another script for different PT. So I went, under his instruction, to see a different therapist. I got there and they said the same thing, its defintley not a hard muscle, its most likely your harware. So I had to go back to the Dr. again. It took me just over two years from date of surgery to this point and I had been in terrible pain 24/7. I saw the Dr. one final time and he was confident, arrogant, that it was not the hardware and that the physical therapists were stupid. So he told me it would just go away on its own in time. At this point I had enough. I tried calling Yale for a second opinion, but they wouldnt see me because the head of neurosurgery at Yale was friends with Dr. Kureshi and the woman on the phone told me he couldnt comment on any of his cases because it would be a conflict of interest. I was appalled, in pain and had no hope. Finally I was recommended to a great Dr. Michael Murphy who did some simple tests with an X-ray and some needles and determined that it was in fact the hardware that was malfunctioning and I needed it out ASAP. I had it removed two weeks after the test and I have been pain free ever since. Dr. Murphy was also shocked and said that the amount of metal Dr. Kureshi put inside me was very excessive and unnecessary. Dr. Kureshi knew exactly what he was doing; push me along until I was outside the statute of limitations so I couldnt sue him for his mistake and had his buddy at Yale back him up. I had to pay for the removal 50% out of pocket which I should have gotten paid for by the Dr. that messed up. Zero respect for this guy and what he does. Hes a conartist at best and is a poster boy for the medical industry and how corrupt it is. I sent him a piece of the metal that he said wasnt the problem and thanked him for nothing. Bet he didnt even look at it. Hes too arrogant...
