This is the least competent and compassionate medical staff I have ever wittnessed. If I could give them 0 stars I would.... After multiple doctors on their staff telling me I was fine and could even have a home birth I had an emergency C-section last year. This was only the beginning...The day after my first surgery, I started spiking a fever every 4-6 hours like clockwork... I kept insisting to every person who came to check on me that something was wrong, that even though they were giving me some of the strongest antibiotics they had (which would eventually burn out multiple veins), I wasnt getting better.They lied to me multiple time regarding the status of my health, telling me there werent results from the lab abt what my infection was, even though the results had come back 3 days before, and I wasnt actually sick and to just keep taking Tylenol for your fever,... I was literally rotting from the inside out. 4 days after my initial surgery, I was still getting regular fevers and feeling way worse, Christopher Morosky, who did the initial surgery, came in and told me that I had an abcess that probably wasnt being treated by the antibiotics that they prescribed to treat said infection but that I would be fine. 24 hours I was told by Stephanie Bowers that i was still rotting internally and if I didnt have a second emergency surgery I could get sepsis and die. They left me with an open wound in my abdomen, which I knew about, that could fit an entire iPhone 7, and an incision I didnt know about that was tiny and sealed with skin glue (more on that later). 36 hours later, still with a gaping hole in my stomach as I was being sent home with a wound vac, Cathleen Campbell and her nurse, Courtney, informed me that if this was a regular c-section I wouldnt need any pain medication at this point and wouldnt prescribe me anything stronger than ibuprofen and Tylenols. Then Dr Campbell informed me that since my son was finally being discharged and my temperature was stable, I could go home... only to come back an hour later to tell me she hadnt actually reviewed my chart and I had to stay another night. I was discharged the next morning... only to end up back in the emergency room 48 hours later because, SURPRISE! Every nurse and physician from Stephanie Bowers on had failed to check and even mention the second, tiny incision she made. Now, that incision had formed another abcess and was prevented from draining by the skin glue used to seal it AND the tape on my skin used to secure the wound vac. If not drained quickly, this would have caused sepsis. I laid in the ER screaming and begging Ramzi Alkass and his resident to stop ripping large sheets of tegaderm off my bare stomach, all I was told was it isnt that bad. Youve already had pain meds, you cant still possibly be in this much pain. Youll be fine. Youre ok. I wasnt ok, I was in excruciating pain and my doctors flat out ignored me telling them I didnt want them to treat me because I would go somewhere else, so that they could go ahead and collect a paycheck.This was almost a year ago. To this day, I cant stand for more than 10 minutes at a time, and I have permanent/semi-permanent damage to the nerve endings on my skin from the constant, improper tape removal when caring for the wound vac. Additionally, I have had nerve pain all over my body that feels like my skin is tingling and burning anytime theres pressure on it... something I never experienced before this ordeal, but that has been significantly affecting my quality of life since. When I told David Park about this, he prescribed me a pill he didnt even think worked and hoped I got better. It didnt and I havent.I will never in my life go to an OBGYN again, and I will most certainly NEVER recommend UCONN to anyone for anything. They are callous, careless and their patients are truely only a paycheck to them.
