Ran the Hartford Marathon that started at the Capitol building. The race was super fun. Ton of people. The park there by the Capitol building was nice.
Very history and hysterical pretty pretty sites to see a place to take pictures
Good amount of parking in the area. The Supreme Court building houses the Connecticut museum which is not very impressive. Not one person there to ask questions, its largely just paintings of the past Governors and some displays that are stagnant. No videos or interactive displays. The Connecticut Library is also housed there but it was closed on Monday.
It's a great old building. Not sure if there are tours or generally open to the public. I go there for a meeting. Lots of marble, big staircase, huge statue out in the middle. Go if you can.
Most unique and truly historic State Capitol in the US. Built in 1878 as a memorial to the Civil War. Dedicated by hundreds of CW veterans. The 1987 legislative office building next door is quite unique and has lots of huge walls with info on our state's history. Who knew PT Barnum was a CT legislator? A must see is the underground walkway between the LOB and Capitol. Lots of memorials to veterans over time. Photo on this listing is NOT the Capitol but the State Armory. Please correct that. Our State Capitol is much more impressive to look at and is more accurate.
